Power Steering Rack Lines

In areas where vehicle corrosion is prevalent it is very common for these hard steel lines (sometimes referred to as transfer tubes) to rust and cause the power steering fluid to leak out. This can make the car difficult to steer and also may result in the power steering pump making a whining noise if enough power steering fluid is lost from the system. Typically the only solution is to replace the entire steering rack which can be quite a costly repair, sometimes costing the vehicle owner over a thousand dollars.

With this set of brand new power steering rack hard lines the rack can be repaired quickly and easily without removal of the steering rack assembly saving valuable time and money. The rack line kit includes the 2 brand new steel lines and 4 new o-rings for installation.

The replacement of the lines is most easily done on a hoist but can be done with the car on jack stands. There are just two clips and a bolted retaining plate securing the lines in place. Simply remove the two clips and one bolt, pop the old lines out, install the new lines, and reinstall the clips retaining plate back in place. Top up the power steering fluid and you will be good to go saving hundreds of dollars and hours of time.
